Doing Dementia Design - A Wetroom Workshop from Impey

On 14 -15 September we are proud to be taking part in the high-profile Doing Dementia Design Conference 2017. Hosted by Liverpool Dementia Action Alliance (LDAA), the specialist conference will promote the use of dementia-friendly design principles across all buildings, places and spaces.

With a prestigious line-up of industry experts, thought leaders and academics from a wide range of relevant fields including architecture, town planning, housing, dementia research, dementia care and the NHS, there is an extensive schedule of talks and workshops relating to living with dementia or caring for someone with dementia.

As part of the schedule of design talks, our Northern Regional Manager Bryon Chappell will be presenting an insightful workshop focusing on the creation of a Dementia-friendly bathroom.

A key area of focus for dementia-friendly design, Bryon will be offering advice and information on level access showering options, the importance of using appropriate contrast, safe seating choices, suitable grab rail options, half-height shower doors, specialist lighting and more. There will also be an opportunity for the delegates to test some of our sample products and ask questions relating to the creation of a suitable bathroom for those with Dementia and their carers.

If you are interested in the design, development, management or construction of homes, public spaces or community buildings, or if you have an interest in policy or regulation for the built environment – then you can still book your ticket for the Doing Dementia Design Conference 2017 at: www.doingdementiadesign.com.
